Everyday we face battles, both internally and externally, and we go about our days not knowing that we can choose our battles. We can decide whether we want to commit to an ongoing argument which could result futile or if we can decide to let go and lose the argument for the sake of saving us the tantrum, the anger, the fury and sometimes even the hatred that lurks behind the curtain of our heart. To put it simply we have the power to take control of our lives and sometimes don’t even know it. As Roberto PĂ©rez, Peace Ambassador for Argentina, says “we tend to react to our surroundings instead of respond” to our surroundings. I believe I emphasize so much but not enough in the need to live consciously because by doing it we live thinking in our neighbors and not in ourselves. We start to live to serve and love others instead of using and taking advantage of others.
Living to serve and love our neighbors should certainly be on our to do list.
What’s on your list today?
